Software Engineer

As part of its Service Assurance activity, EXFO is looking for a Software Designer to join the development team working on the Fiber Monitoring System solution. We are talking about a successful solution gaining momentum with our customers, with numerous new features to implement using state of the art components.

The solution involves a backend, a frontend and Remote Test Units disseminated within the network of our customers to assist with the monitoring of highly sensitive WDM systems or the deployment of Fiber-To-The-Home.

Our new developer will team with seasoned professionals to deliver cutting edge improvements while maintaining the excellent quality customers expect from EXFO products.

The ideal candidate has a background in backend software development, and a good understanding of current technologies, and methods, for the development of container-based micro-services solutions. The job also involves adding features to the embedded software within our range of Remote Test Units.

Main responsibilities

• Contribute to backend development of one or more large components of the FMS solution
• Join small groups of developers in the design, implementation, test, and delivery of these modules
• Acquire knowledge and become a strong contributor in one or more areas of the solution, including their technology stacks
• Participate in the evolution of test automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery

Technical Skills

• A background in software development
• First experience of container based applications

Must Haves

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
