Reports to

Director, Deal Pricing – Finance

Role purpose

  • Ensure commercial propositions reflect an advanced appreciation of commercial environment and maximise opportunity for Colt
  • Role is aimed at medium complexity sales opportunities, also providing support to higher complexity ones
  • Contributes to the implementation of strategic plans to support business goals

Key accountabilities

  • Responsible for undertaking medium/high complexity financial analysis for all countries and for voice & data products
  • Maintain, contribute and deliver competitive market focused pricing, maximising revenues and margin
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of processes & tools
  • Ensure adherence to pricing governance as per Colt policies
  • Ensure all approved bids and deal pricing requests are thoroughly costed and competitively priced within the required timescales
  • Act as a primary source for commercial expertise through an extensive understanding of Colt products, markets and competitors
  • Check and verify the opportunities proposed, ensuring that all opportunities are evaluated, with due consideration for Colt’s risk and adherence to deal governance
  • Support the implementation of Colt’s pricing strategy
  • Communicate to key internal stakeholders and across functions in support of the Sales process
  • Assess commercial risks for Colt on opportunities and ensure governance
  • Provides support to Pricing/Commercial management team

Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial)

  • Number of Deal pricing works on Sales opportunities
  • Contribution towards Sales bookings
  • Quality and presentation of commercial proposals
  • Compliance with existing DoA, authorities matrix and regulatory
  • Number and accuracy of tariffs created on won opportunities
  • Recognition and feedback from stakeholders

Skills & Experience

  • Good exposure to pricing/commercial finance in Telecom/IT
  • A good technical understanding of telecoms technology, Colt products, the competitive environment and where Colt is positioned
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • Ability to present and communicate to sales & senior management
  • Customer focused and commercially astute in order to support teams during customer commercial negotiations
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Able to quickly establish credibility and rapport with sales & business staff and to form teams across organisational boundaries
  • Demonstrable experience of working across functional disciplines to achieve project success

Person specification

  • Proficient with numbers and strong excel modelling skills
  • Adept at working in a fast moving and multicultural environment
  • Takes initiative to increase knowledge base and actively contributes to team knowledge sharing
  • Positive professional attitude, ability to work independently, under pressure and across organisational boundaries


  • CA/CF/MBA or Formal education in business or numerate discipline or equivalent
  • Fluency in English and at least one other language
